The New Café is intended for use only by registered users. All content published at the New Café is protected by copyright, and is owned and controlled by The New Café, Inc. The New Café will NOT re-publish New Café content without the expressed permission of the original author. Participants shall abide by all copyright notices, information and restrictions contained in any content accessed through the New Café.
Patrons grant to The New Café the right to transmit, display, copy, reproduce and distribute within forums at the New Café any content or other information provided by patrons for display within a public forum at the New Café.
The New Café is protected by copyright as a collective work and/or compilation pursuant to U.S. copyright laws, international conventions and other copyright laws. Patrons may not modify, publish, transmit, participate in the transfer or sale of, copy, reproduce, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, display or in any way exploit, any content in whole or in part except as specifically permitted.
Nothing herein is intended to restrict in any way what a patron can do with what s/he has written and posted to the New Café.
You may download or copy the content posted at the New Café for personal use only. Copying, storing or displaying any content for other than personal use is expressly prohibited without prior written permission from The New Café Inc., the content publisher (poster) or the copyright holder identified in the content's copyright notice, which consent may be withheld for any reason. In essence, if you didn't write it, and you want to reproduce it, ask the author.
When quoting articles in New Café postings, it's best to use one or two explanatory lines from the article and then post a link to the article itself. The purpose of this site is, after all, discussion; not compilation of published works. Material from books should be paraphrased and the name and author of the book cited so people can obtain the information directly from the source if they wish. But in any event, these are the specific policy limitations here. You can quote no more than two paragraphs from any published work. For the purposes of this policy, that means:
- Two paragraphs from any standard article , book, or work of fiction
- Two question-answer sets from an interview format article
- Two verses from any poem
- Two verse-chorus sets from song lyrics
