In the Garden, Fields, and Woods

I use my 14mm as much as any lens I have...

I have a 17mm, but it's the kit lens and not nearly as good optically
as the older minolta glass. I do have a 24-50 minolta zoom and I'll
make do with that I guess.

Frank, I'm late, but wanted to say that you caught that water in
mid-air.  Nice.

I find that with the newer digitals you can really push the iso to get
fast shutter speeds without really adding much noise.

Took a walk at Catoctin Mountain PArk, a small national park near here most important, perhaps, because it contains Camp David.

It is also the eastern edge of the Appalachians, and might make westerners laugh that is called a mountain park. But these mountains according to the geologic record once stood as high as the Himalayas.

Surprisingly, a quarter billion years later they still impact the weather here, and form a barrier (surrmountable, but at a cost). Not sure why I got into that, except that the weather and ancient rocks and soil also have an impact on life on the mountain.

So we took this short walk there a week ago,and the primary focus naturally became fungus and mushrooms, given what we saw.

This one lacked the depth of field and color I wanted. But sharing it anyway. Quite purple

Lovely series, Tom - interesting shape of the yellowy fungus, and I did like the ladybug one, too {2975}

I never cease to be amazed and delighted by the variety and beauty of
all things nature-related. You've been capturing some prime examples, Tom!
