You are not mistaken cardo --- first her adult son died of overdose and then she also died. Battling the entire time for *what she was owed* with the 'first family'. She was far over her head --- a short marriage of a stripper to a 90 year old didn't morally warrant the estate. Greed did her in--- she was offered millions to go away but she wanted 100s of millions. Legally she was probably in the right but pragmatically she should have settled. Overweening greed from both sides ---- she lacked the ammunition and it cost her life.

I'm not at all clear on how Anna Nicole Smith, or her weight issues, came into this conversation.

A picture link and two comments Tom -- it does tie in to the topic even if only peripherally. More relevant IMO than most drift.

- The crippling of individuals I consider the worst evil of capitalism. Our whole educational system suffers from this evil. An exaggerated competitive attitude is inculcated into the student, who is trained to worship acquisitive success as a preparation for his future career. Einstein

When it comes to getting answers to your questions about the economy, doesn't the following prove that capitalism turns everything into an auction?: "http://www.dailyfinance.com/2011/12/15/time-is-running-out-bid-on- lunch-with-financial-titans/"

At most it "proves" that there are some *versions* of capitalism turn things into auctions. Why the hell should some mathematically naive economics professors get to decide what capitalism *has* to be?
