SUNRISES

Ha ha. I only see it because it's coming along around the time I normally get up. Once DST is in place, I won't see it for another few months - if I can help it!!

Frank's always up by the crack of noon.

and very wise, too.

On the other hand, I've seen 2:00 AM more times than I care to count.

Annie, I agree with you regarding FLickr. It is giving me fits trying to edit or do most anything in its new format. I wish I hadnt invested so much time and effort so I could move.

If you mean the newEST one they ask us to try? yes it's totally impossible and ridiculous. I hope everyone else says the same thing, or they leave us the choice of staying with what is rather than what will be. It took me ages to figure out the one we use now.

I wasn't asked, I just had it foisted on me. Unless there is a newer one!

When I open it up and a) click on my photo stream then b) click on a picture (all in tile form now, instead of nicely set out in a row or however you wanted it, and we weren't asked if we wanted that), when the picture comes up there is a bar to the lower left saying "Try our new photo experience beta" - that's what I meant - I tried it and found it so frustrating, confusing and downright maddening that I told them in feedback that I thought it was awful. Seems everyone else did too.

YEah my pics come up in collage form now.And the means of editing the info and making sets, controlling uploads and downloads- all that is harder now.

They seem to forget that there are other sites out there, but I think they count on those like you, who have tons of stuff in there, not wanting to havee the enormous labour of shifting to another (and probably not as good) site.

Oh yes, Tom, that glow on the horizon makes it perfect.

I love the layering effect of the various colors.

I'm wondering if artists and photographers have the ability to tell the
difference in a photo between sunrise and sunset? Because I don't. Is
there a way to tell?

Beautiful photo, Tom.

{Photography.103.183}: annie {oceanannie} Mon, 03 Feb 2014 11:30:16 EST (HTML)

I find it's pretty hard when the sunrise has a warm aspect similar to a sunset.

{Photography.103.184}: Tom Coleman {tomcoleman} Tue, 04 Feb 2014 14:25:48 EST (HTML)

Yeh, I dunno. Thanks,Florence

There is supposed to be a difference in the light, the afternoon accumulation of smog and such making the sunsets redder than the sunrises, when the morning air is cleaner and cooler, but while I have guessed right on occasion, I cannot claim any special talent or ability in deciding which is which.

Desert Sunrise, Agua Caliente, California Desert Sunrise, Agua Caliente

Sunset, White Mountains, Arizona

I think, too, if one lives in a fully urban area, the smog created causes some of the sunrises to be red and deep like a sunset...though the sunset on one of those days is far redder than the sunrise was, but one could go on and on in a circle there!!

{Photography.103.187}: Tom Coleman {tomcoleman} Thu, 06 Feb 2014 14:38:04 EST (HTML)

Teah, there are tendencies at best,I think.

--------

{Photography.103.188}: Florence {veggie} Mon, 10 Feb 2014 00:21:15 EST (1 line)

Thanks for tackling the question.

--------

{Photography.103.189}: Tom Coleman {tomcoleman} Wed, 12 Feb 2014 11:11:52 EST (HTML)

Annie is dead on, as a tendency, for just about anywhere, I think. Deeper colors at sunset.
