I go to the occasional NBA game at the Portland Trailblazers and every
once in a while the pad in the urinal will have the opposing team's
logo or mascot on it.

Hahaha! Men get to have all the fun while peeing. I've seen something
similar to this one, American football themed, where you get to kick a
field goal. I wish they'd had these when my three boys were growing
up. It definitely would have made them aim more carefully :-)

The thing I like about this intersection sign is that it's at one of
the main entrances to a university! How appropriate is that!

Here are three signs, all designating the same street, all within one
block of each other.

Nice.

This is an odd sign. It might mean we should argue with our toes, or
it might mean we should all take kick-boxing lessons. Or . . . it
might mean that you're supposed to help fight multiple sclerosis by
participating in the anti-MS fundraising walk that's coming up!

Dr. Scholls to the rescue!

At St. Andrews' University, Scotland. I wonder what is the subject of
study in this building . .

Ain't goin' there ...

First of three signs that caught my eye this summer, for different
reasons.

--------

{Photography.59.816}: Steve Lacey {masked} Sat, 02 Sep 2017 23:00:04 CDT (1 line)

Second of three. This sounds like my kind of joint.

--------

{Photography.59.817}: Steve Lacey {masked} Sat, 02 Sep 2017 23:00:59 CDT (1 line)

And the third. There's so much that's weirdly worded on this sign.

What's a disposable chore?

--------

{Photography.59.819}: Steve Lacey {masked} Sun, 03 Sep 2017 12:42:13 CDT (2 lines)

Yeah. And why is makeup as disposable as dirt, mud, oil? And why does
Preserving towels make a difference?

--------

{Photography.59.820}: eepy post {eepy} Sun, 03 Sep 2017 12:56:03 CDT (3 lines)

A disposable chore is one that you don't want ever to do again...

I'll tell the cat he'll have to clean the bin himself!

{Photography.59.821}: Helge Gundersen {helgegu} Mon, 04 Sep 2017 03:33:08 CDT (4 lines)

It's environmental-friendly to preserve towels, but what are the
missing logical steps? Maybe they just throw the towels away when they
are extraordinary dirty, as they can't go in the regular wash (which
is kind of streamlined)?

You'd better watch your step if you ever meet this person:

This really and truly is the name of a building at the St Andrews
University in St Andrews, Scotland.

--------

{Photography.59.824}: Florence {veggie} Wed, 23 Dec 2020 16:30:04 CST (1 line)

Mr. Butts was insistent his name come first.

--------

{Photography.59.825}: Steve Lacey {masked} Wed, 23 Dec 2020 16:43:13 CST (8 lines)

Found this as an explanation: "The Butts were where archery was
practiced and a Wynd is a narrow lane or alley". It's the name of a
street as well as a building. So I think it's safe to assume that the
building was named after the street, and the street name means that it
was once an alley where archers used to practice target shooting.
Whether or not that's true, in the modern (slang) use of both words
it's still one of my two favourite place names that I've seen in
Scotland! (The other is a street named Pocklaw Slap in Eyemouth.)
