That is a super duper pic of the Royal Albert Hall, David.....you
should sell it to them!!   The evening lighting brings out that rich
colour wonderfully.

This is St. Mary's in Natchez.  It was started in 1842.

This is the Church of the Assumption at 7th & Monroe in Nashville.
It was dedicated in 1859.  Most sermons were in German until WWI
when all my Kraut forbears became Dutch.

Monroe St. Methodist, across the street from Assumption.  It started
about 1872.  Down the street was the German Methodist Church which
was started around 1850.  It took an assumed name and moved across
town.

Both pics are great - the first giving the dark mystery with the light
focussing at the high altar, and this one so we can see the detail of
the beautiful ceiling.

Took my bicycle into Oslo yesterday for a good long ride around the city. It's relatively ice and snow free now compared with our town Drammen. This is one of several surviving houses of simple design and construction from late 1700s, early 1800s, in an area of Oslo called Torshov/Sagene.

Thanks. It is a lovely green. Not really that common of a color here
actually. Norwegians are big on barn red and farmhouse yellow, and
white. Yes, Annie, the house is on a gradual hill on a bluff above
the Aker River, which wends its way down from a good-sized lake in
the mountains behind the city and empties into Oslo Fjørd

My wife and I went for a walk around Drammen today. There's a hint of spring in the air now. Took some snaps of various buildings around town. Below is old part of Aass Bryggeri (www.aass.no), Norway's only remaining independent brewery (founded 1834). Most breweries here are now owned by Swedish and Danish conglomerates likes Pripps and Carlsberg.

This is an old log cabin style house (probably from 1800s) in the Strømsø neighborhood of Drammen, which has a high concentration of Somali immigrants.

This is the front door to Austad Gård, an old manor house in our neighborhood that dates back to 1697. I think the current facade was built about 1813. Austad is the venue for regular classical music concerts.
