A Glimpse Of My Life |
{Photography.90.1}: Coyote {coyote} Wed, 08 Mar 2006 14:13:09 CST (9 lines)
I've often wanted to know more about my fellow photographers. Sometimes I'll notice a detail in a photograph that gives me an infinitesimal hint of their life beyond the camera. And I find it immensely intriguing, not unlike a single puzzle piece or a page torn from a mystery novel or a set of car keys found in a park. Who are you when you're not the photographer? Show me some of your life.

Cool topic, Coyote.
I'm a musician in the other part of my life... Although I'm still recovering from having a plate and about 14 screws inserted in my wrist last October.

Agree that this is a great topic, Coyote!
Below boring pic is my morning routine - checking emails, having morning coffee and watching headline news on CNN International, before heading out into the snow for the 30-45 minute journey to work.
We're in process of moving. My gal Kath and I have bought a place in Drammen, a city some 30 miles west of Oslo.

It's our solution to live together somewehere between Oslo and Sandefjord, where she teaches school. I'm selling my apartment in Gamle Byen (Old City) part of Oslo. Hate to leave central Oslo, but love conquers all.

Hey this is fun. A few years ago, my girlfriend had a project on her blog where she had people send in photos of the workspace where they blog from. It was interesting to see people's spaces in that context. I don't want to confine this topic to "cafe spots," but it's fun way to start. Clothing optional, of course. :-)

And yes, there's no need to restrict your photos to "cafe spots" as Ed remarked. Nor is there a requirement for self portraiture, although that always makes for fun photos. I just wanna see what *you* see in your daily version of reality. I'm fascinated by the diversity of our environs, and I gain new appreciation for my own surroundings when I look at them with the intent of revealing them to others.
Here's the first thing I see when I get out of bed in the morning. The dreaded piles. It's the collecting spot for all my junk I'm currently sorting through, bit by bit. I figure if I pile it all where it's highly visible, I'll be inspired to get it out of sight asap.

It's so nice to see that I am not alone in my clutter. :) (well, with the exception of David, of course.)
{Photography.90.10}: Coyote {coyote} Thu, 09 Mar 2006 14:22:40 CST (HTML)
Lily, of course, likes to help. And my clutter corner is her favorite spot to hunt mice. She brings them into my bedroom, then lets them go in the mess, because it's more challenging to chase them between the boxes and such. Gah!

Ah... remodeling. I am experienced with living with that as well. Except you're efforts are much further along than ours.

And from me, here's something a bit more mundane. Preparing some
cumin fried tempeh.
{Photography.90.18}: Elisabeth Evans {tajour} Thu, 09 Mar 2006 16:46:47 CST (3 lines)
Love your cutting board. ;) The thought of cumin makes me hungry.

TJ, wow, you're ambitious! I absolutely LOVE basements. And attics, too. Dunno why. Must be a past life thing. And is that you reflected in the mirror in {13}?

It's not just because of the plumbers, but they are really up against it with boxes everywhere, from closing a business that operated for 20+ years.
Here's a sample of the mess...
