Most of these look better if you go to my Flickr page and look a the bigger versions.
I have lots of stuff from our trip to California that I'll post as I
can.

I think it's important to ignore rules like that.

Most definitely!

It really bugs me when photos are forbidden - so unnecessary. Like our Art Gallery in Toronto - why? You can photograph almost everything in the National Gallery in Ottawa and in almost every government supported museum/gallery I've been in in other countries - the AGO has an awfully large opinion of itself. The AGO takes every grant it can get, complains bitterly when funding is reduced, but has patrons with enormous wealth.

She says the tricky part is making sure that petal s haven't folded
weirdly or pollen has fallen down to mess up the clarity of the image.
It turned out to be more fiddly than she realized it would be and
drew her in.

annie, this is as old as scanners. There was a whole genre of this stuff in the nineties. It was never as compelling to me as a camera though...

Ten years ago I tried scanning some blossoms, and it was tricky, indeed. I had aspirations to experiment with other flowers but, alas, it never came to be.
