Thanks, Coyote. I love the old cars, and envy the folks with money
enough to have them...

There are more on Flickr, and more to come when I get them processed.

God, REAL cars!

A Polish artist friend, Robert Alda, and I have a joint photo show
opening this Friday evening at Galeria Entropia, in Wroclaw, Poland.

Robert has phtographed himself sleeping in various locations around
the world, and is showing those pics. I'm showing more night stuff,
some old some new.

Never been to Wroclaw, formerly called Braslau. It's Poland's fourth-
largest city and apparently very beautiful. I'll take some snaps and
post them.

Fortunately Norwegian Air and Hungary's WizzAir have very
inexpensive flights to Poland, making this affordable. I'm taking
all 9 photos with me on plane. Found two large hard suitcases at
flea markets last weekend and have packed the pics with lots of
bubble wrap and cardboard. Fingers are crossed there's no damage.

Couldn't open that address, David, but went to Google and found the
site - interesting pics by Alda, and you - the colours in Edge of
Night are super - and I like the Holly Ghost..was that a typo or the
real name - soft and beautiful. The marquee of Gone with the Wind is
my favourite - garish and exciting!

Oddly enough, the link worked fine for me. Oh, those kooky internets.

David, how wonderful! All the images on that page are awesome! Very
unique and compelling. Congratulations on your show! And, it must be
loads of fun to have a photographer buddy. I'd love to sit in on one
of your conversations :-)

Hah, worked for me too, now!

my font has suddenly gone silly....

{Photography.71.225}: Coyote {coyote} Tue, 23 Sep 2008 14:57:30 CDT (1 line)

Great quote for a t-shirt, Annie!

{Photography.71.226}: totally off topic, Coyote!! {oceanannie} Tue, 23 Sep 2008 15:01:51 CDT (7 lines)

God what a morning - my face dripping down my nose, fonts going funny
for no reason (then being ok in the next moment), having nachtmerries
every time I close my eyes to snooze. And my jaw deciding to have a
fling at the same time...tra la.

And yes, it would be good for a t-shirt...printed in two or three
silly-looking fonts!

{Photography.71.227}: You Poor Dear {coyote} Tue, 23 Sep 2008 15:18:41 CDT (2 lines)

Dear sweet Annie, I do hope you feel better soon! I'll say a little
healing prayer for you. And, I'll look for some silly fonts :-)

Try Benguiat Frisky. Love that font. Love that name, too

The show opening in Wroclaw (pronounced "bratswa") went very well. Galeria Entropia is a cool venue, started by a 50 year activist/philosopher, Marius, and his wife, Alicia, 20 years ago. It's located in a 17th century building near main town square. There was an article on our show in the city's main newspaper, Gazeta, and the local TV did an interview with us for their culture spot on nightly news.

Pictured are visitors at the opening. I asked if I could take a picture after we made our short opening speeches. The old guy in middle spoke some English and told me that he was the former chief of the secret police in Wroclaw and is now an anti-Russian activist.

What fun photos! Hahahaha! I'm glad your opening was a success. Is
that your friend lying down in the group shot, or someone imitating him?

The ceiling is lovely! It's amazing that it's still so beautiful after
all this time.

{Photography.71.235}: Jenny Reiswig {jreiswig} Sun, 28 Sep 2008 15:02:07 CDT (2 lines)

Congratulations David! That looks like a wonderful gallery. I'd love
to visit Poland some day... sigh...

{Photography.71.236}: David Burke {tualatin} Sun, 28 Sep 2008 15:16:19 CDT (10 lines)

Thanks a lot!

It was great fun. I will go back down there on 17 October to fetch
the phots. There are promotional flights between Oslo and Poland for
just USD 40 right now on WizzAir. It was definitely less expensive
to pack the pics down and back myself compared with freight costs.

Coyote, yes, that's my freind Robert lying on the floor, doing his
sleeping in places thing. The ceiling has been repainted many times
over the years, but the design is the same.

I'm going to put these here because they really are an art exhibit, spread over miles of desert. Here is some info on the whole affair:

The Lady and the Mastodons

I included Joanne for scale here.
