Forum banner image archive

{Photography.7.1}: Kai Hagen {kai} Thu, 17 Jul 2003 12:41:48 CDT (5 lines)

We will be rotating images on the forum home page.

Each image will be attached and stored here. Since the forum
home page version is small, sometimes we'll place a larger version
of the image here, as well.

This is a wonderful pic, Kai. I love the pink in the clouds. Did you
take it early in the a.m.?

Can others submit photos for the forum banner too?

Thanks.

That photo was taken last in the day, actually.

> Can others submit photos for the forum banner too?

Yes...and no.

Rather than have people submit images, and have conversations about them here, and, presumably, to have to say no sometimes...I'd just like to grab images from the forum from time to time.

With permission, of course!

You can use any of mine for that. Naturally you will ask about any
other use, not that I suppose that is a danger, just being clear.

Thanks.

I'm sure I will use some of yours!

Will you settle for an IOU?!

I'd like to propose {16.227} for a banner image.

Seconders?

Fine with me.

I'll make a smaller verision of it for that later.

How did I miss this topic?

Kai, are you really going to use my image? That would be great!

For my ego ;-)

Kai, weren't you going to makes Coyote's pic the masthead
shot?

Not only is it lovely but I think sticking to the same photo of Mt
Rainer month in month out is a wasted opportunity. This forum
can be exciting but a masthead that never changes suggests
stagnation. Imagine a magazine that only has one photo worth
putting on its front cover. Who'd buy it?

I suggest that giving people the chance to have their photo on the
masthead for a week or so is not only a way to keep the forum
fresh-looking and it could also encourage all of us who
participate here.

Of course, that's easy for me to say - I don't have to find time to
implement my own recommendation. I appreciate its feasibility
depends entirely on your own time commitments.

And if you already have quite enough on your plate, then so be it.

My apologies.

No reason other than being busy and forgettting.

I'll do it today.

Here's to the cafe with the management that likes to listen!

Cheers Kai - you make it a pleasure to be a patron.

Question for Coyote....did you use the photoshop clouds
rendering filter on the skylight picture?

--------

{Photography.7.22}: Coyote {coyote} Sat, 31 Jan 2004 20:43:28 CST (2 lines)

No. It's unretouched, aside from increasing the color saturation a
bit.

Just catching up. The two pix picked for forum banner this far have
both been beauties.
