Scot Kelby has picked the Winner and runner-ups from the Photowalk.

You can see them here:

Interesting choice of winners. I'm surprised I only like a few of
them. No accounting for taste, I guess ;-)

I can't argue with you, I felt the same.

That little old man in #9 really gets around, I see him at the Metro in the mornings sometimes :-)

I didn't like the winner from our walk, either. It was a wide angle shot of the storefronts... I do like how Scott got photos from all over.

I like the winning image a lot - it's the kind of magical thing you
can see on a walk around your normal neighborhood if you're paying
attention.

The winner from our walk was a nice image, but I wouldn't have picked
it for a number of reasons. You can see it here:

It looks a little soft to me, the shadow detail is gone, especially
in his trousers, and the background is too busy for me for this type
of image. The shadow/highlight problem may be just the low rez jpeg
thing, but I think it could have been done better. Also, I thought
that you needed a model release for this type of thing, although I
don't know that he didn't get one. I avoided individual portraits just
for that reason.

Spec-tac-u-lar. Wish I could take one photo half as good as any of
those.

I know. It's a drool fest :-)

"National Geographic is currently holding its annual photo contest, with the deadline for submissions coming up on November 30." Go for it!

The Environmental Defense Fund's is having a little contest wherein
you submit a photo to be considered for the cover image on their new
Facebook page. Submissions are now closed, and it's time to vote for
your favorite by "liking" it. I submitted my Barred Owl photo, which
you can "like" by clicking this URL:

Some folks have been "liking" the post rather than the actual photo,
so make sure to click the "Like" button on the photo. Thanks!

--------

{Photography.36.252}: TJ {tj2} Fri, 03 Feb 2012 23:50:07 CST (1 line)

I "liked" them both...

--------

{Photography.36.253}: Donald Dozier {donaldpd} Sat, 04 Feb 2012 12:29:24 CST (1 line)

They wouldn't let me vote again.

--------

{Photography.36.254}: Coyote {coyote} Sun, 05 Feb 2012 14:53:38 CST (3 lines)

Hahaha! Only one per customer.

Thanks for the votes, everyone!

--------

{Photography.36.255}: TJ {tj2} Sun, 05 Feb 2012 16:50:13 CST (1 line)

Did you win?

--------

{Photography.36.256}: Coyote {coyote} Sun, 05 Feb 2012 18:31:35 CST (2 lines)

They haven't announced the winners yet. But, last I checked, I was in
the lead by quite a few votes :-)

--------

{Photography.36.257}: TJ {tj2} Sun, 05 Feb 2012 20:00:28 CST (2 lines)

Can I vote again using a different computer? Or do you have
principles?

--------

{Photography.36.258}: Coyote {coyote} Sun, 05 Feb 2012 21:29:48 CST (2 lines)

I do. And, I'm assuming they're only allowing one vote per user.
Besides, I'm not heavily hankering a win, but it would be fun :-)

--------

{Photography.36.259}: Myra {southsage} Mon, 06 Feb 2012 01:22:23 CST (HTML)

I voted for you ;-)

--------

{Photography.36.260}: Tom Coleman {tomcoleman} Mon, 06 Feb 2012 11:15:39 CST (HTML)

likewise. Hope its not too late- Info on the contest wasn't obvious to me.

--------

{Photography.36.261}: Donald Dozier {donaldpd} Mon, 06 Feb 2012 12:16:18 CST (4 lines)

Good idea, Terry. We could use another computer and name, thus
adding another tally for our dear C. What's wrong with a good clean
fix? You should see my judge nephew cringe when I say that in his
presence.
