Wheels.21

Isn't it time to start rationing gas?

Glen if you reason for rationing gas were to require even some little sacrifice while the
United States is sacrificing the lives of its men and women and taking the lives of Iraqis
I would certainly agree with you. However if it is to conserve gas then the U.S. should
not give tax breaks to businesses ( and individual who operate "Scamway" home
businees) for vehicles that weigh over 5,000 lbs.( Or what ever a
SuburbanExpoNavigator weighs.) The U.S. Congress should have passed much
higher cafe standards. Far more money should have gone into alternative fuels.

Rationing is not a bad idea for the reason I first gave but it is not the right approach to
conservation. People who write off their SUVs will find a business loophole to obtain
all the gas they want. ( I am a cynic.)
