I love tiny little living things. They deserve their own special space here.

That reminds me of some little messy dog whose eyes you can't see for all the hair. Very cute.

In fact, I'm going to post this photo now, so hopefully, when I learn better, the difference will be obvious. This will be my "starting point" photo.

Hey! That's one of those happy hoppers, too :-) Just look at them headlights. And, I admire your ambition, David. I think you take really great/fun pictures.
{Photography.66.7}: David {david} Wed, 02 Jun 2004 01:21:07 CDT (4 lines)
I THOUGHT that was a hopper, cuz when I tried to take a better, closer photo, he jumped away! I knew when I took that photo, it wasn't the angle I wanted. But I do appreciate your compliment, Ms. Coyote. :-)

Here's a different kind of bee, who was sharing the Allium with the scruffy one. This has to be the prettiest bee I've ever seen. A ball of flying gold fluff.

Coyote & David, Jumping spiders have some of the best vision in the entire animal kingdom. Comparatively speaking if a human had their vision quality, the person would be able to make out newspaper headlines from a 1/2 mile away. Also the fact that they have multiple pairs of eyes and their eyes are situated in a circular fashion around their head means they have nearly 360 degrees of vision.

Cool! It's amazing they let us get close enough to photograph them at all.

Ha - I watched a music video this evening where the guy's hairstyle looks like it could have been modeled on that little beastie!
{Photography.66.13}: T.J. McGovern {tj2} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 18:02:38 CDT (2 lines)
I have a feeling that I wouldn't have enjoyed the music that someone with hair like that would make...
{Photography.66.14}: David {david} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 20:54:49 CDT (3 lines)
I have too much bad experience with stinging caterpillars in Louisiana, that I'm afraid I'd NEVER let one walk on my toes. It's bad enough when they fall on you out of oak trees.
{Photography.66.15}: David {david} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 20:55:33 CDT (2 lines)
That was a cool photo though. Just gave me a little heeby jeebies is all.
{Photography.66.16}: Coyote {coyote} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 21:17:40 CDT (2 lines)
I understand. And those are my fingers, by the way. I don't let just *any* critter mess with my toes ;-)
{Photography.66.17}: David {david} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 21:39:56 CDT (4 lines)
Oh, sorry, I had to go back and look again. Those ARE fingers, aren't they? ;-) Guess my paranoia was leading me to snap conclusions.
{Photography.66.18}: Coyote {coyote} Fri, 04 Jun 2004 21:41:35 CDT (1 line)
Heh. Nice pun.

I think he looks like he would make a good loofah, if he was bigger.
{Photography.66.20}: Coyote {coyote} Mon, 07 Jun 2004 16:01:13 CDT (1 line)
Ohmygosh. You're right! Ha! I've never thought of that :-)

This is a close-up of the photo in Garden, Fields and Woods. {Photography.26.759} I love its little ping pong paddles.
