Winter! |
{Photography.41.1}: Kai Hagen {kai} Tue, 18 Nov 2003 19:03:05 CST (HTML)
But it seemed like a good idea to create a separate topic (and, later, one for each of the seasons).
I wrote something (elsewhere) about winter today, and it motivated me to look back through some of the pictures I took last winter.
Here's one to get things started...

Can you post a web-friendly version, please?

Not often seen in San Antonio. I'm in my T shirt as I write this with
windows and doors open. The house doors and windows, that is.

I've got one that similar to your branches, Kai.

Nebulis: Great pic! What filter, if any was used for that photo?

Hopefully this is better.

Mike: We're going to have to work on this! :-)
That one was 240k, even shrunk to smaller dimensions than the version I'm attaching below.

Not a problem. Once you've got it, you've got it.

Cleophus... no filter on my photo. Just Kodak BW film (the kind you can process as C41), shot with my little Olympus Stylus Epic. Oh yeah, I'm sure the wonderful New Mexico light helps!

Nebulis: Whatever it was, it worked great!

Hey, thanks.

Rats. I forgot to sharpen those :-(

The purple and green with the hail makes for an interesting image, especially since both of those other colors seem to be in similarly sized bits.

One thing I've learned about hail shots is that you pretty much have to get them right
away! In most instances, they disappear quickly.

I tried to freeze some hail once because it really was the size of peas, and I knew nobody would believe me. But the individual hailstones kind of merged with each other in the freezer :(

When you get some the size of golf balls, you can store them individually! :-)

My relatives in Kansas grew tomatoes. Once, a storm dropped tomato-sized hail stones on their house. My aunt ran out and gathered up a few, and photographed them on the kitchen counter next to her tomatoes. One would never have believed the size were it not for that photo!

cherry tomatos?! :-) (I know, I know....just kidding.)
