Great topic idea! Those first two photos are superb. Almost dream-like.

Ahoy Rich, mate! Bird of a feather. Keep 'em coming.

In Sept 03, we rented the houseboat "Blue Moon" to ply the waters of Lake Cowichan.

Hey Rich, good to see and hear from you again. Where you at anyway?

Thanks, all, for the comments. David, I'm in Coos Bay, Oregon, at the moment. Spent almost two months at my cousin's in Grants Pass before hitting the road again. Made my way down to northern California and the redwoods before starting north up the Oregon coast. It's taken me over 3 weeks to get this far. This is my first motel stop since leaving Grants Pass and I had lots of e-mail to wade through, laundry to wash and other catching up with the regular world. I may be making more motel stops the rest of the way as the rainy season seems to have set in and my tent was getting soggy. Therefore I might find more time to stop by here and be more involved. Paddrick, the Blue Moon looks like something I would like to experience. I've toyed with the idea of houseboat living. I think it would fit my personality. I'm going to look into the idea more as I make my way up the coast.

Have a good trip up the Oregon Coast. Lovely, lovely. Look forward to your pics. The stretch between Florence and Yachats real nice. Lived in Otter Rock, Nelscott and Neskowin for a number of years (an idealistic young soul surfer) way back when (before kids and responsibility took over). A hike out on Cascade Head well worth it if you get a chance, as is the drive out Three Capes route off 101 north of Neskowin (to Cape Lookout, Netarts Bay, Oceanside, etc.). Gonna take my two youngest kids (more or less grown now) to the coast during visit to Oregon this Christmas to celebrate grandma's 80th birthday.

These are just phenomenal. I partucularly like th gulls onthe roof in {2}, both view of the lighthouse in {11} and {12}, the lone boat in {14} and the movement of the waves in {16}.

Really nice, Jenny! The lighting is wonderful.

Thanks, Kitty. Come visit Cape May some time!

I really like the fall her the best, I think. I was out around the water several times this past week and I kept thinking - I live in heaven!

Great topic. Must look through my photos form the Gulf Coast to see what I can add. {1} is my favorite so far, the reflected lighting on the rigging was awesome. Liked Jenny's wave too. Rich, if you're going down the coast of Oregon and Northern California check out the hostels. There are some great ones in Bandon, Redwoods, Point Rey, Marin County, etc. Lots cheaper than motels, most have laundry and internet hookups and you can do your own cooking. I like the people you meet in hostels too.

Hi, Diane! I've run on that sand to the lighthouse and back. In fact, one time I shot a roll of photos on the round trip. (Need to devote some time to scanning and uploading them and others.)
