It's all about the light! |

So glad you all like it. I have huge desktop-picture files, 35 of them, and this pic is often the choice of the moment. Very cheering, somehow, and peaceful. It was a peaceful place.

Annie, I saw Lake Ontario only once, in late 1941. In what's for me an irony, I've seen Superior several times, but early in that same year. The lake I live on now is much much smaller, but the wallpaper is peaceful at dawn. Here it is again; can't recall where I put it up before. There are few weeds hardy enough to handle the winds on Ontario, I'd bet.

Sunset and sunrise are sometimes the hardest to capture, there's so much contrast going on, and the colors dont always come through in the gee whiz way you hope...but these do not disappoint. Really really, nice stuff

Actually, that might be the first time I have seen power lines actually add interest to a landscape (or cityscape, if you prefer.)

Thanks, Annie. I thought it was pretty good performance for my tiny old pocket cam :-)

- Most of my images have been done in-studio, under very controlled lighting conditions. There have been a few that have been shot in nature, but even then they were shot almost exclusively at night, and again, under controlled lighting conditions. Leonard Nimoy: 1931 - 2015
