You know.

Ha! Thanks, Kitty :-)

I win! :-)

Is the stem on that poppy really that blue? It is gorgeous.

I may need to get a print of that for my kitchen. With your
permission.

Of course! Go right ahead... And you know, I never thought about that 'blue' stem. I didn't alter the color. I wonder if it has something to do with the lighting at the time of day I took that shot. Now, I'm going to have to go outside and check. Except that it's nighttime.

Yippee! I have a bunch of flower shots, but I didn't want to flood the other topics with them. Now, by putting them here, people who don't like flowers can just ignore this topic.

This is a Scotch rose I bought last Saturday. The flowers are about the size of a marble.

This is an azalea from my front yard. This flower decided to bloom late, all alone.

One of the daylillies from my back-yard.

Are there people who don't like flowers?! :-)

I hope not.

---

I like the azalea shot best, David. How big is the blossom on that one?

--------

{Photography.63.9}: David {david} Thu, 20 May 2004 10:16:55 CDT (HTML)

About two inches. Maybe a little less.

This is from Kitty's yard. I grew up calling them buttercups, but Kitty says it's something else. I forget what.

These are some wild daisies from my yard (now), but originally from Kitty's yard.

This is the other rose I bought last Saturday, "Chuckles". I like the color, even though the blooms aren't very fancy. Notice what a shy flower it is, covering it's private parts. Or maybe it's just teasing.

I have always known {9} as a primrose.

Those are great, David. I especially like the flirtatious Chuckles,
and the peace sign on the primrose petal.

Thank you all for bringing such glorious color and form to our monitors!

Nice tulips!

Well, I DID say I had a lot of flower photos, didn't I?

Ooo! I have a bunch of those, too. And a bunch of *these* in the same color family. Look inside. Can you see her protecting her valuables by holding her dukes up?

Totally! Photoshop a little frowning face in there and you're all set.

Man, that's some heavy dew! Nice photo.

I'm not sure what this is. Something from Kitty's yard. The thing is about as big around as your pinky finger.

Thought I'd try my hand at a flower pic. The oriental poppies in our yard are blooming...

That's great!
Wonderful color contrasts, and I like the hand to give it scale.
Plus the finger angle adds to the stem angle.

Very cool :-)

It's very nice. I think "luminous" is the word I'm looking for.

Plain ole clover, with a bumble bee thrown in for good measure.

{Photography.63.24}: Coyote {coyote} Mon, 24 May 2004 15:41:30 CDT (HTML)

Cute! I love bees. But I've been having a hard time getting them to cooperate for photo shoots. They flit too fast. Durn little quick flitters anyway ;-)

In order to cram his head into a small space, this guy tightened up his wings so hard, they overlapped. Well, what do *I* know? Maybe they overlap like that all the time. When they're not being used for quick flitting, that is.

Wow. Now THAT'S close. I wish I could get my photos sharper like
that.
