Zoo Life

{Photography.48.1}: T.J. McGovern {tj2} Sat, 24 Jan 2004 12:25:33 EST (HTML)

Here in the Twin Cities we are fortunate to have two very nice zoos; The Como Zoo in St. Paul

http://www.ci.stpaul.mn.us/depts/parks/comopark/

which was established in the 1400s, I think, and the newer, larger Minnesota Zoo

http://www.mnzoo.com/

which has a different mix of animals in a larger, more natural setting.

These two are from the Minnesota Zoo years ago. I have never been good at taking care of the business of cataloging my stuff, so I don't know when these were done.

Those are beautiful, T.J.

They are fabulous!

Really lovely.

I love mountain lions.

And those shots capture them very nicely. Great color tone and texture.

(We used to go to the Minnesota Zoo a couple times a year.)

Thanks, everyone.

There's something about the way the cats' skin folds over that's
echoed in the rocks behind them. Really beautiful.

It's taken me awhile to get to this topic but those lions made the
wait worth while.

Been to any more zoos lately?

We just revisited the Minnesota Zoo yesterday with my daughter and her son Jeremy. He's 11, and the last time he was there he was just one year old. (He says he remembers...yah, shur.)

Anyway, I got a couple worth posting, so here's one:

That one came in over 100K.

Here it is again:

Beautiful wolf picture!

What cuties! The wolf's eyes have a come-hither look that
matches its grin.

Thanks everybody.

The wolf might think I'm dinner...

The fence makes it a whole new picture than it would have been
without it.

Cute monkey, now... is the finger doing what I think?

Maybe that's related to why he's blushing so much. Nice shot, but
that certainly doesn't look like a happy monkey!

If he's lke me, he probably has a job driving during the week, and his
finger is permanently lodged in that position.

We have just returned from a week in Arizona where we visited the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson. This is from the Hummingbird aviary there.
