So, he's not on the Ren Faire circuit. :-/ I would have tried to make a point of going to the one Kannapolis, NC when he was performing.

no, Kitty, but if you can, any of you should see him in NYC, Coral Springs or Allentown.

Thank YOU, Annie

Well, that was a fun armchair outing, Tom! I could almost smell the roasted turkey legs those places seem to serve.

"So, he's not on the Ren Faire circuit.". No, just off-Broadway

I had a blast looking at those photos! What a great assortment of
characters and activities. I have yet to attend a Ren Faire. Your
photos have inspired me to seek one out.

Ren fests are lots of fun. We have a local one run by a woman who is also involved in the farmers' market. Unlike the big city fests, this one is just one weekend, and there are no permanent buildings. Minnesota has one of the best anywhere, in Shakopee near the Race track and the Mystic Lake Casino.

Name dropping: Joanne has a friend who is married to one of the Puke and Snot players. http://www.pukensnot.com/about.html

From last year's Medieval Mayhem, our local RenFest:

I can attest to the MN faire, at least as it was 30 years ago!

Desert just doesn't quite capture the spirit though.

Yeah, I think of Ren Fairs as being more verdant, but it still looks
like great fun!

Well, this is in the mountains, not on the desert, but there is no
green grass because it takes until August to get enough rain to green
things up. You can see some pines in the background.

We live next to a very large lake--Great Slave Lake, one of the ten
largest in the world by surface area, and one of the deepest. There is
a legend of a monster in the lake perhaps related to Nessie and
Ogopogo. So a local artist got hold of a pile of 2x4 billets and a
couple of pallets and built a model of Ol' Slavey as he is called. She
also put a stuffy monkey in his mouth!
