Ah, that's the kind of pic - like a travelogue only not. This should
be fun. I may just have to take my old HP with me when I go into
Toronto now, and get some downtown pics and stuff.

The street is Deuce of Clubs Street?

--------

{Photography.105.6}: T.J. McGovern {tj2} Tue, 10 Feb 2009 22:02:34 CST (3 lines)

Street, avenue, who knows?

Around here they just call it "The Deuce."

Oh, yes, they call it the Deuce.... :o)

This is two blocks from my house. Wonder why I put up with the cost of living and annoying politics?

This is the Mormon Temple in La Jolla, near the campus where I work. It's such an amazing looking building - it always looks like some wizard's fantasy castle to me.

Wow, right out of Disney! :o)

And, Jenny, yes, I can see why you live there... beautiful!

lovely place to live Jenny and the church is ... based on fantasy.

I find it pretty grotesque.

We have a similar edifice near Preston here. I'll pull over and take a pic sometime.

"the deuce" - good name for a central main street.

We have "Wicker", not Wicker street, nor "the Wicker". It has the "wicker arches at one end and Lady's Bridge at the other.

Oh Jenny, that's a location to die for! Church is just too fantastic
- I swear it's the Disney castle!

Marcus, I love old stone bridges like that, and in the late afternoon
sun they look so warm and solid.

Here's another angle - it's even more castle-like when you can see the two towers.

I find it sinister.

I like that street shot, Marcus... very crisp!

It's the wet and the sun.

It's also been munched by the auto muncher no 'personalised and sensitive compression.

A fresia, maybe? When I lived in Holland I had a bouquet of them
every week from the Singel - so delicate.

Marbles in Boise

A sculptured game of marbles frozen in time in downtown Boise. I don't live here, but made the photo while visiting a sister in Boise.

Nice. I like the blue wash over the metal...

--------

{Photography.105.24}: annie {oceanannie} Fri, 13 Feb 2009 09:28:25 CST (3 lines)

That would be a delight to come across when walking through the city.

How did you manage to remove all the background?

--------

{Photography.105.25}: Paddrick Mackin {paddrick} Fri, 13 Feb 2009 10:49:50 CST (4 lines)

I used my Wacom tablet with stylus and painted the background
white. It has the look of an "out-of-bounds" style, but it is not.
This looks much better to me than the photo with all of the
distracting visual clultter, and invites imagination. It was fun.
