Two wheels and the open road. Who's got what? Who likes what? What's
the joy of bikes?

I understand that there is an Indian(east) manufacturer of diesel
motorcycles. They are patterned after boxer type BMWs I believe.I
would like to convert a deisel bike to vegtable(bio)oils.Any info on
the manufacturer would be apprieciated!kurtgg@earthlink.net

Sorry if just linking what I googled is lame, but I don't know
anything more than what I just saw at these links.

Now, running straight vegetable oil in a diesel bike would mean
modifying stuff...but you could run biodiesel in a diesel bike as is.

be the best.

Good for riders with fat passengers, too, ha ha.

It'd suck to try to kick start it, though.

Patrice, wow those sites had extensive links, thankyou very much.I was
looking for the Indian manafacturer,I think the old CZ Jawa
partnership. The Abba Panther looks the most like the opposed twim
set-up that was described to me.But I see that someone has converted
5-600 cc boxer twins (BMW) already! They must be fun to kick!Man
those turbine bikes, thats what Knievals'son needs for the next
canion jump! Thanks everyone for the great links.

For any sportbike fiends, I highly recommend this DVD of the 2002 Isle
of Man TT. I just picked it up last week, and it's crazy! The
helicopter and onboard video is downright mesmerizing. Narrow roads,
flanked by stone walls, utility poles, houses, and curious fans. Yikes.

Anybody unfamiliar with (or afraid of, ha ha) modern motorcycles will
be shocked to see what they are capable of. The lap record is held by
a PRODUCTION class 1000cc Suzuki GSXR, just over 37 winding miles in
just under 18 minutes. Sick. :)

I can't even imagine the stones you would need to ride courses like
that at those speeds.

Also, the video also does a pretty thorough job of sanitizing the
consequences. In three hours of footage covering a two week event it
shows a total of two lowside falls. In reality, almost every year
there are a few fatal collisions with the surrounding obstacles.

...which seems amazingly low, when you see the video, ha ha.

Bravo.

What a waste of a good bike. Shouldn't that moron practice wheelies
on some beater before attempting it on his new hotness?

I poked around that site a bit and looked at the other videos.
Particularly the crash videos.

Man there are some really fuckin stupid people in this world.

Whoa. In a sobering follow-up to my earlier DVD rave, the guy on my
2002 Isle of Man DVD who sets the track record and narrates a
hair-raising onboard camera circuit of the course DIED IN THE RACE IN
2003!

David Jeffries, RIP.
